India News: Even as the nation debates Uttar Pradesh bureaucrat Durga Shakti Nagpal's transfer over allegedly taking on Noida's sand mafia, an Indian Police Service officer's recent transfer to a "non-field" post has triggered similar rumours here with the state government playing down the incident.

Pankaj Chaudhary, Superintendent of Police (Jaisalmer) was transferred, in a major state-wide pre-election reshuffling of police officers on Friday, to the post of Commandant, Police Training School, Kishangarh (Ajmer).

It has since been alleged that Mr. Chaudhary was transferred for opening the 48 year old history-sheet of Ghazi Fakir, father of sitting Congress MLA from Pokharan Saleh Mohammad.
