High Court allows 'Jallikattu' with conditions

Hundreds of farmers have converged at the Palamedu village of Madurai for the annual bull-taming harvest sport Jallikattu. The event was under cloud this year with animal activists knocking on the doors of the High Court to ban it. But the Madurai bench allowed the event to be held till the 29th of January with some stringent conditions for the organizers. However, the court order hasn't dampened enthusiasm for the event. While activists are protesting against the cruelty to the bulls the organizers say the sport only showcases their bravery.
