India News: Stung by JD(U)'s decision to break away from NDA, India's principal opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) yesterday slammed the erstwhile ally for insulting the landslide mandate given to the coalition in the 2010 Assembly polls and called for a Bihar bandh on June 18 to protest against the 'deceit'.

"The unprovoked and unilateral decision of the JD(U) to split from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is a gross insult to a landslide mandate given to the coalition government by the people of North Indian state of Bihar in 2010 assembly polls...the development is unfortunate and what the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) has done can be described as deceit to the voters and us," senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi told reporters.
