Nitish Kumar: Cannot work with new era BJP leaders

India News: A day after parting ways with the BJP, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday accused the former alliance partner of betrayal.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Nitish Kumar blamed the BJP for the end of 17-year-old alliance.

"Our parting ways from the NDA is BJP's failure. You created a situation in which the old allies walked away. An alliance does not run under compulsion," Nitish said.

The Vajpayee-Advani era in the BJP is over and we can't reconcile with the new leadership, the Bihar chief minister said defending JD(U)'s decision to end the relationship over Modi's elevation.

Taking a dig at the BJP, Nitish called it a party which betrayed its seniors.
