India News: Railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal on Saturday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and offered to resign over the bribery scandal involving his nephew, according to TV reports.

The decision on Bansal will be taken at the Congress core group meet at 5.30pm this evening. Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh are likely yo take a call on Bansal's resignation then.

Earlier today, Bansal distanced himself from the matter saying he had no business links with his nephew and denied any wrongdoing.
