Chhota Rajan gang sharp-shooter arrested in Dey murder case

In a major breakthrough in the murder case of senior journalist J Dey, Satish Kalia, the prime accused and a sharpshooter, owing allegiance to underworld don Chhota Rajan, was arrested along with six others.
Addressing mediapersons here today, the police commissioner Arup Patnaik said seven people were arrested, who were directly involved in the shooting of Dey on June 11.
The accused were identified as Satish Kaliya, the sharp-shooter, Anil Waghmode, Rohit Thagapanni, Sachin Gaikwad, Abhijit Shinde, Arun dake and M.Mangesh.
All were produced in a Metropolitan court this morning and remanded to police custody till July 4.
Elaborating about the operation, Joint Police commissioner Himanshu Roy said on June 6, Chhota Rajan had contacted Satish Kaliya and given the description of the Target. He had also given the site where the target could be shot - one penninsula tower, where the mid-day office is located and second Hiranandani, where Dey's residence is. But he did not disclose who Dey was.
