LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron at 2019 Canadian International AutoShow
  • 5 years ago
The latest example of fine automotive engineering and performance from French brand Bugatti, the Chiron was unleashed in 2017 as a premium elite speed machine. Defined by its elegantly aerodynamic two-passenger hypercar design, the Bugatti Chiron takes occupants to performance peaks few others can achieve in a road car. The 1,500-horsepower W-16 engine featuring a four turbocharger setup propels the all-wheel drive to a limited top speed of 261 miles per hour. Selling at a price under $3-million US, the Bugatti Chiron is established as a rare commodity with a total production planned at 500 examples. Outside of factory production, one very special version of the moving Bugatti sculpture is the epitome of a super exotic playset.

On display at the 2019 Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto as a debut on North American soil, the LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron is a functional full-sized recreation of the high-performance dream machine using the popular branded building bricks. A combination of 13,438 man hours and over a 1-million LEGO pieces, wheels and tires as well as Bugatti badges are the among few non-LEGO elements appearing on the vehicle. A total of 2,304 Power Function are incorporated into this unique Chiron to provide movement to the art piece. Functioning lights and even engine sounds have been used to provide the LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron as a convincing illusion to the original.
