Disney Partners With Hulu to Create Four Animated Marvel Series The shows will be based on existing Marvel characters: M.O.D.O.K., Tiger and Dazzler, Hit-Monkey and
Howard the Duck. There will also be a miniseries
called “The Offenders," in which
all four characters meet up. Five years ago Netflix and Disney
teamed up to create four live-action
Marvel superhero series, with a final
culminating series known as “The Defenders.” Within the past year, three of the
four series have been canceled,
with only “Jessica Jones” remaining. The move from Netflix to Hulu makes sense
for Disney. Their merger with Fox is
set to close at the end of 2019, meaning
Disney will own 60 percent of Hulu. Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s head of TV, will act as
an executive producer on each project, backed by other well known names
such as comedian Chelsea Handler,
and writer Erica Rivinoja.
