Representative Liz Cheney took a jab at Senator Cory Booker on Tuesday.
Republican Representative Liz Cheney took a jab at Democratic Senator Cory Booker on Tuesday. "Hey @CoryBooker I support PETA - People Eating Tasty Animals. @BeefUSA #WyomingBeefCountry" she said in a tweet. Her comment comes after the publication of Booker's recent interview with VegNews. In it, the presidential hopeful said: "We've seen this massive increase in consumption of meat produced by the industrial animal agriculture industry."
"The tragic reality is this planet simply can't sustain billions of people consuming industrially produced animal agriculture because of environmental impact," he further noted. Booker, who has been vegan since 2014, stated: "We will destroy our planet unless we start figuring out a better way forward when it comes to our climate change and our environment." He also commented that he has no interest in banning the consumption of meat or getting preachy about people's diets. Though Booker doesn't consume meat, he has noted that he does have an affinity for junk food. He recently said on 'The View' that if he ends up at the Iowa State Fair, which many people seeking office do, "I won't eat the pork chop on a stick, but there will be a lot of fried stuff."
