Prosecution to indict former Supreme Court Chief over his involvement in power abuse scandal

Prosecutors says they will indict former Supreme Court Chief Justice Yang Seung-tae in the coming hours,... for his involvement in a massive judicial power abuse scandal.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office is scheduled to hand over former Supreme Court Chief Justice Yang Seung-tae to the court on Monday.
Yang is the first former head of South Korea's top court to be arrested as a suspect and face criminal trial.
He's accused of more than 40 charges, including interfering in sensitive trials like the one on Japan's forced labor of Koreans during World War Two, and numerous other high-profile cases.
The petition being filed by prosecutors is said to be nearly 300 pages-long.
Prosecutors are also expected to indict two retired justices Park Byong-dae and Ko Young-han for their alleged involvement in the scandal.
In addition,... Lim Jong-hun, a former deputy of the National Court Administration,... or the Supreme Court's administrative body,... will also be indicted on a range of charges related to the alleged wrongdoings.
Lim, in particular,... is accused of meddling in trials involving lawmakers.
Prosecutors plan to carry out additional investigations to indict other former and sitting judges involved in the power abuse scandal during Yang's leadership of judiciary,... drawing a line under their eight month investigation into the case.
