Main opposition may consider changing schedule for leadership convention
  • 5 years ago
Korea's main opposition Liberty Korea Party may consider delaying its leadership convention -- as it overlaps with the upcoming summit between North Korea and the U.S. on February 27th and 28th.
The Liberty Korea Party convention, where it will pick its new leader, was scheduled for the 27th.
There are concerns that the event will be largely overshadowed by the summit,... especially at a time when the party's approval rating has been rising.
However, some say,... the party's schedule shouldn't be changed based on external events.
And changing the date itself could prove difficult,... given that other events running up to the election,... such as televised debates,... have already been set -- and rescheduling won't be easy.
