Lipstick Under My Burkha Might Have To Move Court For A Release After Tribunal's Rejection?
After lying low for a while, the Central Board of Film Certification chief Pahlaj Nihlani is back in the news for the controversy surrounding the film Lipstick Under My Burkha. Lipstick Under My Burkha which has earned many accolades in international film festivals is facing troubles to release in India. The CBFC watched Lipstick Under My Burkha and rejected certifying it as it deals with four Indian women being upfront about their sexuality. The producer Prakash Jha and director Alankrita Shrivastav then went to the Tribunal to get Lipstick Under My Burkha approved on 27th March. But now we hear that even the tribunal is holding their decision back and wants to review it once more. Word is that they are not sure if Lipstick Under My Burkha can release in theaters here in India. If the Tribunal does not give a decision to the makers, then they will have to take the matter to court to seek permission to release.
