1 Lalita Panchami, also known by the name Upang Lalita Vrat is a fasting festival dedicated to Goddess Lalita

2 Its religious significance is mentioned in various Hindu scriptures such as Kalika Purana.

3 As per the traditional Hindu calendar, it occurs during Ashwin Shukla Paksha on the fifth day of Navratri.

4 Goddess Lalita or Tripura Sundari is an incarnation of Goddess Durga and she is worshiped in the form of Goddess Chandi in Maharashtra and Gujarat.

5 It is considered propitious to observe the fast and chant Vedic Mantras dedicated to the goddess.

6 There are many significant rituals performed in honor of the goddess. A few of them involve reciting Lalita Sahasranaam, Lalitopakhyan, Lalitatrishati and more.

7 The temple committees of Lalita temples celebrate the festival with great fervour by organizing Akhand Patha and amusement fairs.

8 It is said that, those who observe the sacred Vrat and participate in the Pooja rituals with great devotion are blessed with contentment and happiness
