1 Back in the 13th–14th century, there was a prominent saint and most staunch devotee of Lord Ganesha.
2 He got completely devoted to Lord Ganesha after visiting the Moreshwar temple in Morgaon. This foremost temple is the first one to be visited during Ashtavinayak Yatra.
3 As per the legends, one day he couldn’t find a spot in the Moreshwar temple as it was flocked by the elite priests and wealthy families.
4 So he decided to leave his offerings under a tree nearby and such was his devotion that it miraculously got exchanged with the ones presented by the wealthy families.
5 However, the elite priests accused him of sorcery and prohibited his entry into the temple.
6 It is said that after this incident, Lord Ganesha visited him in his dream and told him that he will get the God's Darshan in Chinchwad.
7 With time people forgot the tale of this great devotee, but his name is still called out after Lord Ganesha’s name as a living part of Ganesha devotion.
8 He was none other than Morya aka Moroba Gosavi - the famous devotee of Lord Ganesh (14th century).
9 The Ganapatya community credited him as the chief spiritual forefather of their sect and for the common people he was the most adherent devotee.
10 Many devotees worship him at the various Ganesh temples and his Samadhi in Chinchwad.
