Ganapati Bappa Morya ..... That time of the year when the sound of this divine slogan echoes all over the country has arrived. Lord Ganesha is welcomed with a great devotion, particularly in Maharashtra. The Hindu God who is called the remover of hurdles is placed by all most everyone in their homes and around their residence. This festival is famous for the traditional values that gets everyone together and is hence celebrated annually with utmost fervor in India. 1 Ganesh Chaturthi (Chavithi) also known as Ganeshotsav is the Hindu festival celebrated with great devotion all over the country.
2 In Hindu traditions, Ganeshotsav is observed as one of the most auspicious occasion and it also holds a significant place in the Indian culture.
3 The Ganesh Chaturthi festival occurs on the fourth day of Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada and in English calendar, it falls in the month of August or September.
4 In this ten days long festival, a clay made Murti (idol) of Lord Ganesha is placed at the home and work place, and worshiped with great devotion.
5 The main notion behind the festival is to invite Lord Ganesha as a guest at your place with great zeal.
6 The preparations for this great celebration begins almost a month before the actual festival.
7 Especially in Maharashtra, the festival brings in a great swell of festive fervor amongst the crowd.
8 In various parts of the city, different Mandals install the huge idols and the Pandals are famous for their detailed decorations and intricate designs,
