In different Indian states, we can find many groups of nine separate temples, which are collectively called Navagraha Sthala or Temples.

Each of these temples is located in different villages, which are considered as the individual abodes of the nine major celestial bodies of Vedic astronomy.

These heavenly bodies are namely Surya (Sun), Chandra (Moon), Mangala (Mars), Budha (Mercury), Guru or Brihaspati (Jupiter), Shukra (Venus), Shani (Saturn), Rahu (North Lunar Node) and Ketu (South Lunar Node).

It is believed that any kind of Graha Doshas of nine planets can be pacified by worshiping these nine Sthalas.

These kinds of temples are mainly found in Assam, Chennai, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.

Navagraha Jain Teertha in Karnataka is a Jain shrine that features the tallest idol of the Jain deity, Parshvanatha and the other smaller statues of eight Teerthankaras.

The set of Navagraha Temples situated in Tamil Nadu are said to be the most famous ones in India, which dates back to the era of the Chola dynasty.
