Kamala Harris' Spox To Trump Jr. On Northam Remark: 'Your Dad Said Nazis Were Very Fine People'

Kamala Harris' spokesperson fired back at Donald Trump Jr. on Saturday over a recent remark.

A spokesperson for Democratic Senator and 2020 hopeful Kamala Harris has fired back at Donald Trump Jr. after he mocked an old tweet by Harris praising Virginia Governor Ralph Northam who is currently embroiled in a racial controversy.
Harris' communications director Lily Adams tweeted back to Trump Jr.: "Your dad said Nazis were very fine people. Maybe sit this one out."
Her post was in response to his message featuring a screenshot of Harris' tweet congratulating Northam on his victory in the Virginia governor's race, saying he and his team showed "Virginia won't stand for hatred and bigotry."
The senator's tweet was from November 2017, about 3 months after the city of Charlottesville was rocked by a "Unite the Right" rally where white nationalists and counter-protesters clashed.
At the time, President Trump had been widely criticized for blaming "both sides" for the incident, adding: "You also had some very fine people on both sides."
More than a year later, Northam is facing calls to step down by Republicans and fellow Democrats including Harris after the surfacing of a "racially offensive photo on his medical school yearbook page that featured a picture of men in blackface and Ku Klux Klan robes," notes CNBC.
Harris tweeted, "Leaders are called to a higher standard, and the stain of racism should have no place in the halls of government. The Governor of Virginia should step aside so the public can heal and move forward together."
