The United States of America is a fascinating land, covering an area of 3,805,927 square miles, with a population of 319,309,000. USA’s capital Washington D.C. is not the largest city, New York City is!

If you are wondering why I am telling you all this, then you are in for a surprise! I bring to you some amazing facts about USA.

1. Pizza is the favorite fast food of the nation, surpassing burger. About 100 acres of pizza is served every day in the US.

2. The largest city, New York, was the first capital city of the US, from 1785 to 1790.

3. Lake Superior is the largest water body of North America. It is so big that its water could cover North and South America in their entirety with one foot of water.

4. The right to vote was granted to women in 1920.

5. The US purchased Alaska from Russia in 1867 at a price of mere $7.2 million.

6. The state of Montana has a 3:1 ratio of cows to people.

7. The country also has the highest number of divorces in the world.

8. The US boasts of the largest air force in the world.

9. Washington D.C. is home to less than 1% of the total population.

10. USA consumes petroleum more than any other country in the world.
