Extreme weather stops mail delivery cold in Midwest

CHICAGO — A brutal deep freeze is wreaking havoc in the U.S. midwest this week thanks to Winter Storm Jaden, and it's so bad even the mailmen are staying home.
According to the U.S. Postal Service, delivery services are temporarily being suspended to certain states on Wednesday due to the extreme weather.
CNN reports that Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and parts of Kansas, Missouri, Montana, and Nebraska will all be no-mail zones.
Temperatures this week are reaching all-time lows. Chicago might reach 27 below zero on Thursday morning, and the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes Area could plunge to -20 to -40.
The wind chill is even worse, plummeting 30 to 70 below zero in the northern Plains and Great Lakes region. In Minnesota, it's forecast to be -70.
Under those conditions, exposed skin can get frostbite in as little as five minutes, prompting advice from the National Weather Service to limit time outdoors.
Three deaths have already been attributed to the crazy weather, one in Wisconsin, a second in Minnesota, and a third in Illinois.
So unless you're Elsa, bundle up and stay in, because trust us, this cold is gonna do more than bother you.
