Trump's Trade Tariffs Are Greatly Damaging Profits for Harley-Davidson Retail sales in the U.S. for the
motorcycle company fell 10% in
2018's final quarter. Harley-Davidson has been struggling for some time now, but the decline is rapidly increasing due to President Trump's trade war with the European Union. Due to the tariffs, the company failed to even make a profit in the fourth quarter. For 2019, Harley-Davidson says they will set them back around $120 million. To cope with losses, the company has said it would move some of its production overseas. The decision has infuriated Trump, who says he would heavily tax Harley-Davidson in response.
