South Korea's trade ministry has vowed to provide more incentives this year for overseas firms operating in the country to encourage greater foreign direct investment.
Ministry officials and organizations related to FDI met on Tuesday with representatives from Korea-based foreign companies to discuss possible policy directions for 2019.
Specific support measures include providing more financial incentives to foreign firms and stripping away red tape.
The ministry also plans to raise more foreign investment for South Korea's manufacturing sector to vitalize regional economies.
The meeting comes after FDI pledged to South Korea reached an all-time high in 2018.
