Nee Naan Nizhal starts with Sarath Kumar, a police officer in Malaysia of Indian Origin, presented with a serial of five Indians. The five people appear to have no connection among them. It is doubted that these s may be racially motivated. Sarath Kumar and his team look on their online profiles to find a mutual friend in all their profiles named Asha Black. The police suspect Asha Black to be the er and could be a serial killer on the prowl.

In Nee Naan Nizhal, Meanwhile in Coimbatore, India, Arjun Lal is a young musician who has his own rock band. Arjun Lal gets a friend request from an unknown Asha Black. He starts chatting with Asha Black. He keeps chatting with her all the time without paying much attention to anything else, thereby infuriating his friends. His friends tell him to let go of her, as it may be a fake profile. Asha Black and Arjun Lal chat in webcam all the time. He learns that she's 17 and will turn 18 in some days. Arjun Lal suggests he comes to Malaysia to meet her. Asha Black is sceptical to meet him as she wants her online friends to remain as only online friends.

Arjun Lal goes to Malaysia to find that she's . An enraged Arjun Lal has no other option but to come back to India. Meanwhile Sarath Kumar and his team find out that Asha Black had sent mail to the five people, on a date after her . They conclude that someone else is the killer, who has control over Asha Black's account.

How Sarath Kumar solves the case and what happens to Arjun forms the crux of the story.
