Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal is a 2014 Love Comedy Tamil Movie. Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal stars Udhayanidhi Stalin and Nayanthara in lead roles. Santhanam and Sundar Ramu play important roles in the movie. Saranya Ponvannan, Aadukalam Naren, Jayaprakash, Chaya Singh, Bharath Reddy and Aadukalam Murugadoss play supporting roles. Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal songs are composed by Harris Jayaraj who also composed the songs for Udhayanidhi Stalin's debut movie Oru Kal Oru Kannadi.
Udhayanidhi is Kathirvelan. Udhayanidhi is a staunch Hanuman devotee since the age of 5. He shows no interest in women. He runs a minibus service in Madurai. Chaya Singh is his sister. Chaya Singh has eloped with Bharath Reddy against the wishes of her family. This causes friction between Chaya Singh and her father Aadukalam Naren. Saranya Ponvannan is their mother. Chaya Singh fights with her husband and returns to her parents' house. Udhayanidhi Stalin goes to Bharath Reddy's house to make them reconcile. He understands that it was only a clash of ego between his sister and her husband. He makes them talk to each other and brings them together.
Nayanthara is his brother-in-law's neighbour. Nayanthara works in a Panasonic showroom. Nayanthara's parents are Jayaprakash and Vanitha. Chaya Singh warns Udhayanidhi Stalin to keep a safe distance from Nayanthara as Jayaprakash and Bharath Reddy have previous enmity. Nayanthara is in a relationship with Sundar Ramu. She thinks he's a gentleman but Sundar Ramu is a womanizer. Udhayanidhi Stalin meets Nayanthara and immediately falls for her beauty.
Udhayanidhi Stalin and Santhanam team up to make Nayanthara fall in love with Udhayanidhi Stalin. They go to the Panasonic Showroom but create a scene in front of Nayanthara making her throw them out. Udhayanidhi Stalin follows Nayanthara around. But she threatens to go to the police. Udhayanidhi Stalin finds out about Sundar Ramu's womanizing ways. He informs this to Nayanthara. But she doesn't believe him.
Soon Sundar Ramu makes a move on Nayanthara making her dump him. Nayanthara falls for Udhayanidhi Stalin. They both express their feelings. Bharath Reddy comes to know about this. He throws out Udhayanidhi Stalin for falling in love with his enemy's daughter. His father also throws him out after he comes to know that he lied about going to Salem and was in stead in Coimbatore.
Eventually Santhanam and Udhayanidhi Stalin use mimickry artist Mayilsami's help and finally solves the dispute between Bharath Reddy and Jayaprakash. Udhayanidhi Stalin eventually patches up with his father. He takes his permission and eventually marries Nayanthara.
