The Kenya Defence Forces has invited the National Intelligence Service, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and Civil Society Organisation Transparency International to observe its nationwide recruitment exercises which commenced this morning.

The Vice Chief of the Defence Forces Joseph Kasaon says the decision to open up the exercise to scrutiny has been taken in the interest of transparency.

He has also warned that those who take advantage of the month long exercise to fleece unsuspecting Kenyans will also be tracked down and prosecuted for fraud. “We are inviting other bodies like Transparency International, the NIS, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, the press to come and observe and to report to the Senior Reporting Officer on ground any malpractices that they might see.”

The Vice Chief has reiterated that Kenyans are not required to part with any fees in order to be considered for the Service.
