Governor Mutua suspends 2 ministers in major changes

Two Machakos County ministers have been sent on a three-month compulsory leave in major changes undertaken by Governor Alfred Mutua.
The two are Eng. Francis Maliti (Water) and Larry Wambua (Public Services).

Grace Munguti was also appointed as the acting County Secretary to replace Francis Mwaka who is facing court charges related to abuse of office.

The Special Programmes Chief Officer Lemi Muia was however sacked.

Decentralised Units Minister Kioko Wa Luka will act as the Water Minister while Education Minister Hellen Kiilu will act as the Public Services Minister.

Trade Minister Sunil Dhall will manage the Energy docket while Faith Wathome, Tourism Minister will assist in managing the garbage collection docket.

Mutua also reshuffled four Chief Officers; Eng. Morris Aluanga was moved to Special Programmes from Roads, Nicholas Makau from Irrigation to Cooperatives and Catherine Nzila from Decentralised Units to the Office of the Governor for deployment.
