he Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has suspended the month-long teachers strike and directed its members to resume teaching on Monday.

The Union Secretary General Wilson Sossion says the strike has been suspended following the court order requiring the union to halt industrial action for three months.

The 4-week strike broke a record as the longest industrial action by teachers in their push for implementation of a 50 to 60 percent pay increase awarded by the courts.
