Japanese civic group presses Mitsubishi to compensate Korean forced labor victims

A group of Japanese civic activists delivered a request for consultation to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries today,... demanding that the company compensate the Koreans who were forced to work for the firm during wartime.
The activists went to the firm's headquarters in Tokyo and handed over the request written by lawyers representing the victims.
The lawyers made it clear that if Mitsubishi does not respond by the end of February, they are going to proceed with the South Korean Supreme Court's ruling... and seize the assets of Mitsubishi's Korea branches.
Back in November, South Korea's Supreme Court ordered the company to compensate the Koreans it forced into unpaid labor.
