Brave dentist performs root canal on sleeping TIGER | SWNS TV
  • 5 years ago
This footage shows the moment a brave dentist performed a root canal - on a TIGER. Fabi, the Sumatran tiger, was anaesthetised by injection before he fell unconscious before his teeth are repaired. Veterinary dentist Matthew Oxford carries out the procedure on the 11-year-old feline's eight centimetre canines. Fabi, who is over two metres long and weighs more than 100 kilograms, resides at Paignton Zoo in Devon. A Sumatran has 30 teeth, including four very long canines, which are important for biting, tearing and eating meat.
