Dr Mahathir: I gave his father the car

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad recalled that he had presented a first generation Proton Saga to the late Johor ruler Sultan Iskandar Sultan Ismail more than three decades ago.
He told reporters this after being driven to the Senai International Airport in the same blue-coloured car by Sultan Iskandar's son and present Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim on Thursday.
Responding to a question on how he felt, Mahathir replied: “Very good (for a) 34-year-old car... Kept well. It's a manual (gearbox)... steering was very good. No breakdown.”
