Opposition parties extend support to bill; PM Narendra Modi present in Lok Sabha
  • 5 years ago
The Lok Sabha has passed the first ever reservation bill for the economically weak with 323 voters in favour of the quota. After an exhaustive debate that went on for an hour. Only AIADMK staged a walkout as the all opposition parties including congress, SP & TMC backed the bill in the lower house that worked overtime. The opposition questioned the timing of the bill. It remains to be seen if the quota will pass the Rajya Sabha test now.
