Schumer On Trump's 'Game of Thrones' Wall Tweet: 'Enough With The Memes. Just Quit Hurting Innocent People'

Chuck Schumer slammed President Trump in a tweet on Saturday.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer recently blasted President Trump via Twitter for using a 'Game of Thrones' meme to promote his border wall with Mexico.
The New York lawmaker shared Trump's tweet, adding the comment, "Enough with the memes. Just quit hurting innocent people and re-open the government."
The president had posted an image on Saturday showing himself above a wall-like structure, and in a Game of Thrones-style font, noting, "The Wall is Coming."
The move comes as neither he nor the Democrats seem willing to budge on the $5.6 billion in border wall funding the president is demanding to end the partial government shutdown affecting around 800,000 federal workers.
Despite Trump's declaration, his reference to the popular HBO series has been criticized, with an Entertainment Weekly post saying The Wall in the show "and its history serves as a rebuke to Trump's immigration policy (something the administration would know if they actually watched the show rather than seemingly just used its popularity to create viral social media posts)."
The piece also points out that the Game of Thrones Wall "was ultimately ineffective."
