Galgos: Are Spain's greyhounds mistreated? | Focus on Europe

Spain's galgos, or Spanish greyhounds, are bred for the rabbit hunt. But dogs that lose their prey or grow too old for the hunt are often abandoned or brutally killed once the hunting season is over. It is known as a common and cruel practice among Spanish rescue organizations, but some galgo owners say it is just propaganda put forth by animal-rights activists.
