Unnamed sources say the Academy is may allow Hart to return as host for the 2019 broadcast.
Hart appeared on **The Ellen DeGeneres** show on Friday, and the Academy reportedly hoped Hart would have a more “meaningful” conversation about his old jokes.
DeGeneres said she still wants Hart to host.
