Lifetime’s R. Kelly Documentary Is Stirring Lots Of Controversy
  • 5 years ago
The discussion around R&B singer R. Kelly has always been heated. After allegations of abusive behavior towards underage women, Kelly’s reputation in the music industry has been deteriorating rapidly.

Now, Lifetime is airing the documentary series “Surviving R. Kelly” that explores many of the accusations swirling his pockmarked career.

Interviewed for the documentary are major figures in the #MeToo movement such as founder Tarana Burke, and many collaborators and members of Kelly’s inner circle.

Also central to the docuseries are R. Kelly’s accusers. “Surviving R. Kelly” presents credible accounts with firsthand experiences from the women victims who have accused Kelly of manipulating them, held them hostage, and forced them into cult-like sexually abusive scenarios.
