According to a report by Reuters, the Taliban is attempting to change the public's perception of their group as peace talks continue in Afghanistan, distancing themselves from the 1990's when they banned music and girls' education while also carrying out pubic executions. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid told Reuters, “If peace comes and the Taliban return, then our return will not be in the same harsh way as it was in 1996.
