Broad Beam: Cancers Linked To Excess Weight Unevenly Distributed Throughout US
  • 5 years ago
UPI reports cancer cases attributed to obesity vary state-by-state, according to a new study.
The study showed a 1.5-fold difference between the lowest and highest state-by-state rates of cancers attributable to weight.
For instance, endometrial cancer rates ranged drastically, from 36.5% in Hawaii to nearly 55% in Mississippi.
The National Institutes of Health says over two-thirds of US adults are considered overweight or obese.
