SpaceX Working On 'Test Hopper' Mars Spaceship

Business Insider reports Elon Musk had a special gift to share with fans of SpaceX this Christmas.
Musk revealed that construction of a prototype for a Mars spaceship, 'Starship,' is now underway!
Creating non-orbit-reaching launches or "hops" of this prototype could lead to building the Big Falcon Rocket...
...which would be designed to launch 100 people and 150 tons of cargo to Mars.
But SpaceX executives have short hops won't commence until the end of 2019. So Mars may be a bit of a wait.
