Chef José Andrés, a well-known critic of President Trump, has offered free sandwiches to federal employees during the partial government shutdown.
Andrés tweeted out a list of his restaurants Friday along with the message, "All my beautiful hardworking people of the Federal Goverment, come to any of my places with your families at the bar between 2-5 pm for a free sandwich.Everyday until back to work!"
The post came just hours before the jobs of about 800,000 federal employees were affected due to lawmakers' inability to pass a budget bill amid the president's demands for border wall funding.
The chef's offer is another move among several he has made in the past to slam Trump which the Washington Post says dates back to a 2015 lawsuit.
"The lawsuit concerned a restaurant deal that Andrés pulled out of after Trump made comments disparaging Mexicans," notes NPR.
The restaurant suit has since been settled.
