Trump Fires Back: 'Hard To Believe' Lindsey Graham Would Be Against Syria Withdrawal

President Trump reacted to Lindsey Graham's criticism on his Syria decision.

President Trump on Thursday expressed disbelief that Republican Senator Lindsey Graham is against the US withdrawing its troops from Syria.  "So hard to believe that Lindsey Graham would be against saving soldier lives & billions of $$$," Trump said in a tweet. "Why are we fighting for our enemy, Syria, by staying & killing ISIS for them, Russia, Iran & other locals? Time to focus on our Country & bring our youth back home where they belong!"  The comment follows Graham' forceful Wednesday night speech on Trump's decision to immediately remove US military from Syria.  Graham said that doing so is "disastrous to our own national security," and called the move "a stain on the honor of the United States."  Graham is also part of a group of Senators who wrote a letter imploring the president to reconsider.  It read, in part: "If you decide to follow through with your decision to pull our troops out of Syria, any remnants of ISIS in Syria will surely renew and embolden their efforts in the region. However, ISIS is not the only threat. The brutal dictatorship of Bashar al Assad continues to weigh heavily upon the Syrian people, and we fear that a withdrawal of our troops may embolden Bashar al Assad to take further actions to solidify his power."
