Trump Declares 'Border Is Tight,' Caravans Are No Longer Forming

President Trump on Thursday posted another tweet on border security.

President Trump on Thursday declared that the US-Mexico border is "tight."
"With so much talk about the Wall, people are losing sight of the great job being done on our Southern Border by Border Patrol, ICE and our great Military," Trump tweeted. "Remember the Caravans? Well, they didn't get through and none are forming or on their way. Border is tight. Fake News silent!"
The tweet came after CNN reported, citing sources, that Trump has "become increasingly sensitive to criticism that he's backing off his signature promise to build a wall along the US-Mexico border...as aides fear the administration's chances for securing funding for it have sunset."
It also follows the passage of a short-term spending bill in the Senate "that would keep the government open through the New Year but deny President Trump the money he wanted for his border wall," reports the Washington Post.
The lack of a wall is clearly something that many of his supporters find troubling.
Conservative commentator Ann Coulter told the Daily Caller: "Either Trump never intended to build a wall and was scamming voters from the beginning or he hasn't the first idea in how to get it done and no interest in finding out…My prediction is his support will evaporate and Trump will very likely not finish his term and definitely not be elected to a second term."
