In the lead up to Tuesday's sentencing of Michael Flynn, President Trump and his team seemed to be convinced that the former national security adviser would stand up in court and renounce the plea deal he had agreed to more than a year ago in which he admitted lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russian officials during the presidential transition in late 2016. However, CNN reports Flynn did no such thing.
