Report: Biden Team Considering Beto O’Rourke As 2020 Running Mate

The Associated Press reported on speculation surrounding Joe Biden for 2020.

A presidential run for former Vice President Joe Biden could involve a much younger running mate like Texas Representative Beto O'Rourke.
According to the Associated Press, insiders have shared that Biden is aware that his advanced age of 76 could be a major stumbling block to securing the Democratic presidential nomination and, as such, advisers are said to have suggested a younger vice presidential pick.
O'Rourke's name has reportedly been discussed as one option. The 46-year-old has been a rising star in the party since running a very competitive Senate race against incumbent Ted Cruz.
Though O'Rourke has said he has not made any decisions about 2020, he has become one of the frontrunners for the Democratic nomination, according to a new CNN poll which placed him behind Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders who is 77.
Meanwhile, the Texas lawmaker has edged ahead of New Jersey Senator Cory Booker and California Senator Kamala Harris, who are top names in the party's younger group of leaders.
The Hill notes, age is said to be a factor for Democrats who are trying to attract younger and more diverse voters to take on Trump.
