These photographs show Royal Mail staff hard at work on the busiest day of the year - as they prepare to deal with more than 149 million parcels in the run up to Christmas. Workers at the St Rollox mail centre, Springburn, Glasgow, expected to process 2.2 million items in ONE DAY - including 250,000 to 300,000 parcels. Traditionally, December 12 is the busiest day of the postal year. Some 11,000 Royal Mail staff are working around Scotland, assisted by 1,100 temporary workers.
