White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Tuesday slammed congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for suggesting that outgoing White House Chief of Staff John Kelly still owes Democratic Representative Frederica Wilson an apology.  "[Kelly] is in his fifth decade of public service, and this country owes him a debt of gratitude, not the nonsense that has been spewed about him recently from the left, and from this 29-year-old congresswoman who doesn't seem to know much about anything when you ask her basic concepts about the economy, or the Middle East, or military funding," Conway noted in an interview with Fox News' 'America's Newsroom.' The day prior, Ocasio-Cortez said in a tweet: "John Kelly was straight up exposed for lying about [Representative Wilson] in comments aimed at discrediting her. He absolutely owes her an apology, and his refusal to do so isn't a sign of strength - it's cowardice.  According to the Washington Post, that "overdue apology" dates back to October 2017, when Wilson revealed details about President Trump's poor handling of a condolence call to a fallen soldier's widow.  Kelly soon after called her an "empty barrel" and accused her of crediting herself with getting federal funding for a new building.  However, a video from the incident showed that she had not.  When asked during a Fox News interview if he felt he needed to apologize, Kelly replied, "Oh, no. No. Never. Well, I'll apologize if I need to. But for something like that, absolutely not. I stand by my comments."
