Gut Health: Signs Your
Microbiome Is Unbalanced The human body contains as many bacterial cells as
human cells. The role of bacterial cells is not yet well understood. An overgrowth of harmful bacteria may cause a condition called dysbiosis. Amesh Adalja, Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, via Bustle Caitlin Thompson, Neurobiology researcher and founder of Entheozen, via Bustle Gas and bloating are the most common symptoms of
gut disruption. Joint pain is also associated with bacterial imbalance, as certain bacteria can deteriorate the joints.
