Paul Krugman Says US, Russia And Saudi Arabia Represent 'A New Axis Of Evil'

Paul Krugman said Monday that the US, Russia and Saudi Arabia represent a "new axis of evil."

New York Times columnist Paul Krugman on Monday shared his thoughts on the shifting dynamic in US relations.  "There's a new axis of evil: Russia, Saudi Arabia -- and the United States," he said in a tweet. Krugman was responding to Greg Sargent of the Washington Post, who wrote, "Unreal. The US just joined Russia & Saudi Arabia in refusing to endorse findings of big international report warning of long-term climate catastrophe…This again shows that Trump's *worldview* as basis for big decisions is producing disastrous outcomes." The United States over the weekend joined those two countries and Kuwait in contesting language in a climate report from the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.  In a statement, US Department of State commented: "As we have made clear in the IPCC and other bodies, the United States has not endorsed the findings of the report."  The refusal of those findings comes not long after Trump refuted the largely dire climate change impact assessments outlined in a US government report, which involved the work of 300 scientists and over a dozen federal agencies.
