Trump Claims Protesters In France Are Chanting 'We Want Trump!'

President Trump on Saturday claimed that French protesters are chanting, "we want Trump."

President Trump on Saturday again asserted that anti-government protesters in France are shouting, "we want Trump."
"The Paris Agreement isn't working out so well for Paris. Protests and riots all over France," Trump tweeted. "People do not want to pay large sums of money, much to third world countries (that are questionably run), in order to maybe protect the environment. Chanting 'We Want Trump!' Love France."
The tweet comes after he retweeted a similar claim on Tuesday.  The message shared was posted by Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA and read: "There are riots in socialist France because of radical leftist fuel taxes. Media barely mentioning this. America is booming, Europe is burning. They want to cover up the middle class rebellion against cultural Marxism. 'We want Trump' being chanted through the streets of Paris."
Reacting to the retweet at the time, a French outlet said that this claim "appears to have been made up."

"There were people caught on camera chanting 'we want Trump' but this demonstration took place in London in June and it was held in support of far-right activist Tommy Robinson," the publication adds.
Trump had previously been critical of those protests. "The large and violent French protests don't take into account how badly the United States has been treated on Trade by the European Union or on fair and reasonable payments for our GREAT military protection. Both of these topics must be remedied soon," he tweeted last month.
