Heather Nauert
for UN Ambassador The State Department
spokeswoman would replace
Nikki Haley in the position. President Donald Trump made
the announcement to reporters on
the South Lawn of the White House. Nauert is
a former
Fox News host. She has been with the
State Department since 2017. Nauert will now
face Senate confirmation. It's expected she will be
challenged by Democrats on
her qualifications for the position. The Trump Administration
maintains its distrust
of the UN. Nauert is expected to wield less
influence both at the UN and in
the administration than her
predecessor, Nikki Haley.
