What’s driving Myanmar’s Rohingya crisis?

In what the United Nations has called “the world’s fastest growing refugee crisis”, hundreds of thousands of Rohingya have escaped from Myanmar’s Rakhine State – an area rocked by communal conflict. Many have fled to camps in neighbouring Bangladesh or seek asylum in  other Southeast Asian countries. Despite severe criticism from the international community, the Myanmar government has dismissed almost all claims of human rights violations.
