Disneyland Tower Likely
Caused 22 Cases of
Legionnaires' Disease The 2017 outbreak
occurred not far
from the park
in Anaheim, CA. An Orange County health official
testified that a cooling tower
which spreads mist in the
park was likely the source. Water tested from two of the
towers revealed high levels
of Legionella bacteria. The official contends the
contaminated water droplets
spread to people both in
and outside of Disneyland. The official said that additional
testing was required to be
100% certain the cooling
towers were the source. Disney says the source
of the outbreak
has not been
scientifically determined.
